LEARNING EXPERIENCES IN THE REAL WORLD
Everyone knows a school field trip is one of the best tools we can use. This past weekend, a local kind-hearted farmer by the name of Kritsana Prachumsri stopped by our BKLC program to see if we were interested in purchasing organic mushrooms.

Inspired by our effort, he immediately invited the kids to hop in the back of a pickup truck, visit his innovative farm and learn what’s involved with mushroom cultivation. Mushrooms are a great source for a protein and has distinct sustainability benefits. Besides the obvious educational value, the students had a truly enjoyable experience that they will remember for years to come.

MUSIC MAKES BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN
Every time we connect with a child, it’s not just their eyes that light up, but their hearts too. Here’s a warm shout-out to music program heroes Whitney Kroenke Silverstein, Mark Johnson, Jake Groshong and the good folks at the Playing For Change Foundation.

Because of their loving support for over 10 years of Bangkok’s Khlong Toey music program and the Paintbrush Foundation, our students from Ban Kung Learning Center in remote northeastern Thailand were thrilled to receive an unexpected surprise.

The ASHA Foundation For Humanity, a long time PFCF partner, recently sponsored an initiative called ‘Hands Across Thailand’ where disadvantaged Isaan village kids and Thai Bangkok city kids come together for a life-changing cultural exchange.

Paintbrush Foundation Director Geraldine Nemrod and company graciously provided our BKLC students with the overwhelming and unforgettable experience of a first-time music lesson. On behalf of our kids and their families, we thank everyone involved for their gracious gift. Onward and upward!
